Beast of Reincarnation Characters
Beast of Reincarnation is a story about two outsiders: Emma, a blightborn outcast, and Koo, a malefact dog. Around them, the Cleanse Walker and the colonies are home to a small crew of traveling companions. Character details below come from the PlayStation Blog and IGN's guides, accessed August 6, 2026.
Emma
Emma is the protagonist and a blightborn: she was born corrupted by blight, which fused her with plants and gave her the ability to freely manipulate her hair. Her hair has become plant-like vines that she uses to traverse terrain such as collapsed bridges and high walls, and she can extend it above an enemy's head for a falling assassination attack.
Shunned by people who fear her, Emma lives as an outcast without her feelings or memories. She is a Sealer: she hunts malefacts and absorbs their blight into her own body. In combat, Emma uses sword-based actions in real time.
Koo
Koo is a malefact, a being that poses a threat to the world, and Emma's companion. Eurogamer describes Koo as a large white wolf, while the official PlayStation description calls the game a "one-person, one-dog action RPG."
In combat, Koo fights through commands like a turn-based RPG. Opening the command menu with the Triangle button slows time while you select Koo's techniques. Parrying earns Fluorescent Points that fuel Koo's Bloom Arts, and he attacks autonomously the rest of the time. Koo can be sent to begin engagements, equipped with one Charm, and given skills and items that restore HP, apply status effects, place traps, or draw enemy attention.
The Cleanse Walker Crew

Other NPCs appear in the world, including Golem Merchants, Keeper Golems who reveal map objectives, and an Old Gatekeeper tied to the Yellow Key in the first zone.
