Beast of Reincarnation Classes and Builds
There are no locked character classes in Beast of Reincarnation. Instead, builds are shaped by Emma's and Koo's skill trees, weapons, armor, Spirit Stones, and Koo's Charms. This page explains the three roots in each tree and the playstyles they support.
Emma's Skill Tree Roots
| Root | What It Supports | Playstyle |
|---|---|---|
| Tracking Shot | Ranged attacks, dodge-roll, and Koo assassinations | Sniper and assassin builds that open fights from distance and finish with Koo pounces |
| Hair | Hair-based damage, stealth, and mobility moves | Stealth builds using Cloaking Grass and assassination opportunities from high ground |
| Entanglement Overdrive | Entanglement Gauge size and recovery, time-slow windows, Blade Arts uptime | Aggressive melee builds that parry, spend gauge, and chain Blade Arts |
Eurogamer's skill guide recommends starting with the Entanglement Overdrive root for most players, especially Expand Entanglement Gauge, Entanglement Gauge Recovery, Extend Blade Effects, and Critical Boost. It also recommends Entangled Follow Up, Attack Dog, Lucky Shot, and Roll from Tracking Shot, plus Sprout Shakuyaku and Helm Splitter from Hair.
Koo's Skill Tree Roots
| Root | What It Supports | Use in a Build |
|---|---|---|
| Incantation | Mods that boost status effect buildup and damage | Status-focused builds: Status Effect Amp, Last Stand, and Full Bloom Crit |
| Guard | Defense, support, Entanglement recovery, cleansing, healing | Survival builds: Mod Battleborn (activates Emma's weapon effects), Resonance, Healing Energy |
| Pounce | Traps, taunts, assassination, item discovery, HP recovery | Utility builds: Taunt, Lay Landmine, Healing Bouquet, Snatch |
Eurogamer recommends Incantation first for Koo, then Pounce, while saving points for Guard's Battleborn and Healing Energy mods. Koo's Nushi Skills, the Bloom Arts, are worth unlocking whenever available because they expand elemental coverage.
Build Layers Beyond Skills
- Weapons: every katana has the same base stats, so the parry-activated weapon effect defines its role. Match the effect to the enemy's weakness.
- Ammo: the bow and crossbow each carry three arrow or bolt types, which lets one build cover several elements.
- Armor: armor affects defense, elemental resistance, enemy awareness, and how many Spirit Stones Emma can equip.
- Spirit Stones: accessories for Emma with small bonuses such as defense at battle start, weakness-hit bonuses, and damage reduction.
- Charms: Koo wears one Charm with a primary and secondary effect, identified when you rest at a campfire.
